Half Mile Farm
This project replaces a series of fragmented rear additions with a single, light-filled extension that redefines how the family uses the home. A generous open-plan kitchen, living and dining space now supports everyday life, with large glazed openings connecting the interior to the garden and allowing the space to respond to the changing seasons.
The pitched roof form draws on the gable language of the original house, helping the extension sit comfortably within its setting while remaining clearly contemporary. A restrained palette of brick and white render adds subtle articulation, balancing continuity with a quiet sense of newness.
“We knew our 'forever home' had potential. Sophie and Rhys made us feel like our project was as important to them as it was to us. They took time to outline the options and were upfront about the costs we could expect. It was a pleasure to work with them to design the new extension and renovations to our home. At every step of the way, Hamer Way demonstrated tremendous care and absolute professionalism.”
